Paolo: Do you want a cup of coffee, topo?
Me: No thanks.
(two minutes pass)
Paolo: Topo, are you sure I can’t pour you a cup of coffee?
Me: No, that’s okay, thanks.
(one minute passes)
Paolo: I made pleeeenty of coffee.
Me: Um, ya, still no thanks.
(two more minutes pass)
Paolo: …So you’re really sure you won’t have a coffee?
Me: Jesus you’re persistent! Why do you want me to have coffee so bad?
Paolo: (sighs) I just don’t understand how you can start the day without a coffee.
Me: Because I’m not Italian!
Paolo: Yeah, well, I guess nobody’s perfect…

I really don’t understand how people could start a day with no coffee….how do you guys function without a daily dose of dark, smelly, bitter, hot beverage??? It’s like a day outside, climbing , with no beer at the end…(which reminds me of something…)…impossible! Not bearable!
HOW DO YOU GUYS DO????

Don’t want to sound flippant, but isn’t there something that you are not telling us, like… Paolo’s coffee sucks! I mean, last time you came to visit, you surely did start the day with some coffee. Loooaaaaads of coffee… You’re welcome anytime to enjoy it again, by the way!

sorry to disappoint… but i have not been drinking coffee. i did when i was in europe, but i have not since being home. when i do drink it, it makes my stomach behave strangely. i am just not use to it anymore. i guess i will just have to live with my imperfections.

though, i will have to say that when i did drink your coffee it was good, dare i say… the best?
